Types of Batching Plant Cement Silo

Welded Silos
Welded silos are the preferred option for low-capacity storage. Featuring a one-piece integrated structure, they can be assembled and put into operation in just two hours using a single crane.
Structure: Primarily made of welded steel plates, the silo includes a cylindrical body, a silo top, a conical discharge section, and a supporting frame.
Excellent structural integrity and airtightness prevent material moisture absorption or leakage—ideal for long-term, stable storage.
Easy to maintain, with superior weather resistance and compliance with the highest quality standards.
Minimal dimensional tolerance ensures high assembly precision.
The carbon steel shell is joined using 100% penetration submerged arc welding, free of slag inclusions and porosity.
Bolt-free, seam-free, and gasket-free construction: the smooth internal welded surface eliminates material buildup points.
Premium interior lining: the welded steel silo is coated with anti-corrosion epoxy to prevent material oxidation.
Bolted Silos
Bolted cement silos, also known as sectional silos, are prefabricated at the factory and assembled on-site using bolts. They can be shipped in standard containers, significantly reducing transportation costs.
Structure: These silos typically feature a conical bottom and include components such as the silo body, support legs, level indicator, discharge valve, and top vent. The top is sealed, and the bottom is equipped with a discharge cone. They are suitable for storing and handling a variety of powdered or granular materials, especially cement.
Reduce: transportation risk, total cost
Improve: flexibility, structural strength

Horizontal Cement Silo
Horizontal cement silos, also known as container-type cement silos, are a new type of bulk cement storage silo. In concrete plants, they are mainly used for storing bulk cement, fly ash, and similar materials. They are commonly applied in mobile concrete batching plants, foundation-free batching plants, temporary concrete plants, and continuous mixing stations.
Structure: The horizontal cement silo is rectangular in shape and supported by multiple legs. Its discharge cone is also square. The main body is constructed from corrugated plates and profile-welded frames. The overall height is relatively low. A discharge outlet and screw conveyor are installed at the bottom for convenient material unloading and transportation.
No foundation required, easy installation
The silo’s multiple legs help distribute the weight evenly. It only needs ground hardening underneath, eliminating the need for complex foundation work and embedded components, saving time and labor.
Low height, wide applicability
Even a small 50-ton vertical silo can reach around 9 meters in height once installed. In contrast, horizontal silos have a much lower height, making them ideal for indoor use without removing building roofs.
No external enclosure needed, cost-saving
Equipment exposed outdoors typically requires environmental enclosures. However, the horizontal silo, made of welded container plates, offers high strength and excellent sealing. Thanks to its low height, it often eliminates the need for extra environmental protection structures, reducing overall operating costs.
Mobile Cement Silo
Mobile cement silos are mainly used in mobile concrete batching plants. They offer a convenient and efficient storage solution, especially suitable for hard-to-reach locations. These silos can be easily installed where permanent silos are not feasible, making them an essential component for construction or industrial projects in remote areas.
Designed with a trailer system and equipped with retractable legs.
Can be transported in standard containers to different job sites.
Compact design, foundation-free installation, and fitted with wheels for easy relocation.
Reduces transportation time and costs.

Horizontal vs. Vertical Cement Silos
| Item | Horizontal Cement Silo | Vertical Cement Silo |
|---|---|---|
| Common Capacity | 50T, 60T, 80T, 100T | 30T~500T |
| Structural Design | Rectangular structure; silo body made of channel steel; square legs; lower height | Cylindrical + conical bottom; silo body made of steel plate; taller round legs |
| Foundation Requirement | No foundation required; ground leveling is sufficient; short installation cycle; easy to relocate | Requires concrete foundation; relatively longer installation cycle |
| Transportation Method | Legs can be detached and packed inside the silo; transport dimensions within limits; reusable | Transported by truck or standard container; some assembly required on site |
| Applicable Sites | Suitable for height-restricted or narrow spaces such as tunnel construction; high flexibility | Better suited for spacious sites and long-term construction projects |
| Footprint | Relatively larger footprint; suitable for open or spacious ground areas | Smaller footprint; ideal for limited ground space |
