Intelligent Monitoring

A concrete batching plant is a complete set of equipment for centralized concrete production. It precisely measures and mixes raw materials—cement, sand, gravel, water, and additives—according to a predetermined mix ratio (recipe) to produce fresh concrete. Concrete mixing plants are primarily used in the construction of railways, highways, bridges, airports, tunnels, hydropower and water conservancy projects, civil and mining construction, as well as in the production of commercial concrete and concrete products.

In a batching plant, the concrete mixer is the core equipment, determining the quality of the concrete and construction efficiency. AGICO offers a variety of customizable mixer options, including twin shaft concrete mixers, planetary concrete mixers, and drum concrete mixers, flexibly meeting different project requirements for concrete performance and cost-effectiveness.

Our batching plants cover capacities from 25 to 240 m³/h and include stationary-type plants (AG-HZS25~240), mobile-type plants (AG-YHZS25~180), and various specialized types, such as mini concrete batching plants and foundation-free concrete batching plants. We provide customers with personalized concrete production solutions and full-process service support.

Types of Mixers Used in a Concrete Mixer Batching Plant

Twin Shaft Concrete Mixer

twin shaft concrete mixer in batch plant
  • Models: AG-JS500, AG-JS750, AG-JS1000, AG-JS1500, AG-JS2000, AG-JS3000, AG-JS4000.
  • Theoretical Output: 25–240 m³/h (depending on model and configuration), suitable for continuous, large-volume concrete production.

Main Components

  • Mixing Drum: Horizontal structure with wear-resistant liners inside.
  • Twin Horizontal Mixing Shafts: Parallel arrangement with densely distributed mixing blades.
  • Drive System: Motor, gearbox, and coupling.
  • Feeding System: Hopper, belt conveyor, or screw conveyor.
  • Discharge System: Continuous or centralized discharge structure.
  • Control System: Unified control of mixing speed and feeding/discharging rhythm.

Working Principle

Materials enter the mixing drum continuously according to the preset ratio. Driven by two synchronously rotating mixing shafts and multiple blades, the materials undergo strong shearing, tumbling, and convective movements to achieve intensive mixing. After mixing, the concrete is discharged continuously through the outlet. The material residence time inside the drum is controlled by adjusting the feeding rate and shaft speed.

Applications

  • Large commercial concrete batching plants
  • Highway and bridge construction projects
  • Water conservancy, hydropower, and large-scale infrastructure projects

Features

  • High Mixing Efficiency: Twin-shaft forced mixing ensures stable uniformity.

  • Models: AG-MPC500 to AG-MPC3000
  • Single-Batch Discharge Capacity: 500–3000 L
  • Theoretical Output: 25–180 m³/h

Main Components

  • Vertical Mixing Pan: Compact structure with wear-resistant lining.
  • Planetary Mixing System: Planetary arms combined with auxiliary high-speed mixing blades.
  • Drive System: Hardened-gear reducer with elastic or hydraulic coupling.
  • Discharge System: Pneumatic or hydraulic control, with optional multiple discharge gates.
  • Spraying & Metering System: Atomized water spraying with precise powder and liquid dosing.
  • Intelligent Control System: Supports automatic or semi-automatic operation.

Working Principle

The mixing arms rotate on their own axes while simultaneously revolving around the center of the mixing pan, forming complex and dense mixing trajectories. Under the combined effects of shear force, extrusion force, and convection, materials move in three dimensions, achieving synchronous horizontal and vertical mixing. This structure effectively eliminates dead zones, prevents aggregate segregation, and ensures excellent mixing uniformity.

Applications

  • Precast concrete components (segments, wall panels, sleepers, etc.)
  • High-strength and high-performance concrete
  • Refractory materials, ceramics, glass, and special material industries

Features

  • 360° Dead-Zone-Free Mixing: Planetary motion covers the entire pan.

Main Components

  • Rotating Drum: Equipped with internal mixing blades.
  • Drive System: Gear or chain drive.
  • Power System: Electric motor or diesel engine.
  • Frame & Traveling System: Fixed type or wheel-mounted mobile type.

Working Principle

The drum rotates around its own axis, and the internal blades lift, drop, and tumble the materials to achieve mixing. Forward rotation is used for mixing, while reverse rotation or tilting is used for discharging. This is a typical gravity-type mixing method.

How to Choose the Right Concrete Batching Plant

1. Clarify Project Requirements

Before selecting equipment, determine the project scale, construction site, and concrete demand. For small residential buildings or road repairs, a 25–50 m³/h compact mobile plant is sufficient. Large bridges or high-rise buildings require 60–100 m³/h or higher. In remote areas, consider units with self-contained power and water tanks, while urban sites may benefit from a compact design. Choose capacity based on daily or weekly output to avoid overloading.

2. Balance Investment and Long-Term Value

Ensure the initial investment is reasonable. Compact plants are suitable for short-term or multi-site projects. Consider operating costs as well—equipment with low energy consumption and easy maintenance can reduce long-term expenses. Frequently used mobile plants across multiple projects typically offer a higher return on investment.

3. Select Equipment Based on Concrete Type

Standard mixes are suitable for ordinary projects, while high-strength structures require precise batching equipment. Self-compacting or specialty mixes demand uniform mixing and accurate control to ensure consistent quality.

4. Consider Relocation Frequency

For frequent relocation, choose trailer-type plants for quick transport and installation. For occasional moves, sled-type units can be repositioned using cranes or flatbed trucks.

5. Evaluate Suppliers

Prioritize experienced and reputable manufacturers. Equipment should be efficient, durable, and easy to operate, with customizable capacity and mixer types. Comprehensive after-sales service—including warranty, spare parts, technical support, and operator training—is essential. Consider both initial costs and long-term operating expenses.

6. Focus on Long-Term Support

Check the warranty scope, operator training, and maintenance services. Local service and spare parts availability help prevent project delays, and regular maintenance ensures long-term, efficient operation of the plant.
